fwiw i come from a family like that-- on my dad's side. it's not much remarked, just a tacit assumption that yes, of course sometimes you just know stuff, like who is calling before you answer the phone, or when a relative has died, or that perhaps you should not go to that event after all (and then you find out later that something went very wrong)... and that kids are much more alert to it than adults, generally. not much importance is attached to it. that's just the way it is.
we are not slavs. just regular US amalgams with mostly UK surnames-- English and Welsh, probably.
