I’ll just add on. For what it’s worth I leave mine open and yes they do get knocked over. I’ll have to try the cayenne too.
But I just use a red solo cup with the nail and the salt.
I also do a small cup or jar of vinegar. A small mason jar or another red solo cup has worked well. But again spilling can and does happen. And one time my daughter drank one. She was not happy. Another thing that’s interesting is how fast the nail can rust. The nastier the energy the faster the corrosion. You can also do the basic floor wash of salt, white vinegar and cayenne pepper. Any carpeted areas of the house sprinkle non-iodized a.k.a. kosher or sea salt and leave over night. Vacuum up and dispose of in the dumpster outside.
