I was taught a Tibetan exercise in pranayama in a Buddhist temple, that’s also described in detail in the book, Awakening the Sacred Body, by Tenzin Wangyal.
The Tibetan version is similar to yours, includes both sides, and doesn’t include physical movements; it purports to clear the subtle channels. I’ve noticed, after a few weeks of practicing it, that my sinuses are clearer and I seem to breath through both nostrils now, rather than primarily my left.
