N.B. The key active ingredient in Tamiflu is a synthesized molecule derived from shikimic acid found in star anise spice which is one of the 5 ingredients in Chinese Five Spice Powder. Such powerful spices, dear readers, is why the Portuguese, Dutch, Spanish, and other Europeans were so desperate to find sailing ship trade routes to the Spice Islands of Indonesia as well as China and Japan in order to cut out the Chinese, Arabs and others controlling the land routes to Europe.
