Are you referring to the Atlantic magazine article? If so-- I don't think there's a grand ultra-coordinated "they"... I think Emily Oster and the editors of that rag (and their presumable readers-- I used to be one, not any more) have their own I-am-so-very-virtuous need to signal and at the same time, do the flapdoodle to anything that would prompt their feeling any guilt and shame.
Ms. Oster and the editorial board are probably all, every one of them, 4 to even as many as 5 x jabbed by now.
