Toward Ecosophy

I know that there are many, many cases in this world where doing such an action-- intentionally severing an energetic connection with one or both of one's parents-- can be the best choice one can make for oneself. As you probably know, our esteemed host is one such case. Nonetheless I must say that whenever a case like yours, of a child seeking to sever connection with their parents, appears in these pages, it causes me great distress. I fully admit that it may simply be due to my personal issues that this is so, but I need to say that my intuition screamed claxon bells when I read your question. I beg you, before you willfully, with magical intent, go forward with any kind of plan to sever all connections with your parents ("sever", not "weaken", is a real possibility here, even if you prefer it the other way), please be 100% sure that you would be okay with even the possibility that you would never see either of your parents again. Or of it becoming far harder, should the interest develop within you in the future, to ever mend your relationship with them. There is the possibility of strong karmic implications as well: live by the sword... Basically, you are playing with fire here. Make your own choice, and gifting knives could very well be the best thing you can do. I don't know your life. Just please, don't take this action lightly. Think long and hard. This is the kind of action that has the potential for some pretty bad burns if it's not really what you want.
