Open (More or Less) Post on Covid 54

So it's time for another open post. The rules are the same as before:
1. If you plan on parroting the party line of the medical industry and its paid shills, please go away. This is a place for people to talk openly, honestly, and freely about their concerns that the party line in question is dangerously flawed and that actions being pushed by the medical industry et al. are causing injury and death. It is not a place for you to dismiss those concerns. Anyone who wants to hear the official story and the arguments in favor of it can find those on hundreds of thousands of websites.
2. If you plan on insisting that the current situation is the result of a deliberate plot by some villainous group of people or other, please go away. There are tens of thousands of websites currently rehashing various conspiracy theories about the Covid-19 outbreak and the vaccines. This is not one of them. What we're exploring is the likelihood that what's going on is the product of the same arrogance, incompetence, and corruption that the medical industry and its tame politicians have displayed so abundantly in recent decades. That possibility deserves a space of its own for discussion, and that's what we're doing here.
3. If you plan on using rent-a-troll derailing or disruption tactics, please go away. I'm quite familiar with the standard tactics used by troll farms to disrupt online forums, and am ready, willing, and able -- and in fact quite eager -- to ban people permanently for engaging in them here. Oh, and I also lurk on other Covid-19 vaccine skeptic blogs, so I'm likely to notice when the same posts are showing up on more than one venue.
4. If you don't believe in treating people with common courtesy, please go away. I have, and enforce, a strict courtesy policy on my blogs and online forums, and this is no exception. The sort of schoolyard bullying that takes place on so many other internet forums will get you deleted and banned here. No, I don't care if you disagree with that: my journal, my rules.
With that said, the floor is open for discussion.
Re: In the Time of Bat Flu: Zwangmedizin & An Electric Fence
Date: 2022-08-21 10:14 pm (UTC)I was wrong recalling President Eisenhower signed any Nuremberg Code Treaty into US law. Not until a UN "convenant" on civil rights became effective by 1976 during the Ford Administration did any international agreement become (somewhat) effective. The U.S. Congressional Church Committee in the 1970's openly looked into the Cold War CIA human experiments done with little to no informed consent on the human subjects and that rattled some cages. But so far, all the U.S. laws on human subject experiments are promulgated at agency levels by self-protective bureaucrats in the Code of Federal Regulations, not by laws passed in Congress. The U.S. government gives its agencies' human subject experiments plenty of loopholes to avoid full informed consent. For example, see the easy ways to avoid informed consent for those serving in the U.S. military:

As I think about what happened to me more than 20 years ago, the more I realize the laws in the U.S.A. have enabled medical researchers to be completely callous towards their fellow humans with a near total impunity. As Justice Sandra Day O'Conner wrote in her dissent in the 5-4 decision in 1987 Stanley case of an Army sergeant who was dosed unknowingly with LSD and suffered great harm without triggering any new damages liability against the U.S.A. for his injuries:
"No judicially crafted rule should insulate from liability the involuntary and unknowing human experimentation alleged to have occurred in this case. Indeed, as Justice Brennan observes, the United States played an instrumental role in the criminal prosecution of Nazi officials who experimented with human subjects during the Second World War, and the standards that the Nuremberg Military Tribunals developed to judge the behavior of the defendants stated that the 'voluntary consent of the human subject is absolutely essential . . . to satisfy moral, ethical, and legal concepts.' If this principle is violated, the very least that society can do is to see that the victims are compensated, as best they can be, by the perpetrators."
The "Nuremberg Code" remains just a list of 10 ideals from a U.S. military tribunal decision issued on August 20, 1947 sentencing to death 7 people.
