memeAs we move into the second year of these open posts, it's pretty clear that the official narrative is cracking as the toll of deaths and injuries from the Covid vaccines rises steadily and the vaccines themselves demonstrate their total uselesness at preventing Covid infection or transmission. It's still important to keep watch over the mis-, mal- and nonfeasance of our self-proclaimed health gruppenfuehrers, and the disastrous results of the Covid mania, but I think it's also time to begin thinking about what might be possible as the existing medical industry reels under the impact of its own self-inflicted injuries.

(Yes, the change in image theme reflects that; the earlier sequence served its purpose. With a nod to El Gato Malo (1, 2, 3), the posts to come will be headed by thoughtful memes relevant to the Covid mess. Yes, I'll take nominations -- you can post links in the thread.)

So it's time for another open post. The rules are the same as before:

1. If you plan on parroting the party line of the medical industry and its paid shills, please go away. This is a place for people to talk openly, honestly, and freely about their concerns that the party line in question is dangerously flawed and that actions being pushed by the medical industry et al. are causing injury and death. It is not a place for you to dismiss those concerns. Anyone who wants to hear the official story and the arguments in favor of it can find those on hundreds of thousands of websites.

2. If you plan on insisting that the current situation is the result of a deliberate plot by some villainous group of people or other, please go away. There are tens of thousands of websites currently rehashing various conspiracy theories about the Covid-19 outbreak and the vaccines. This is not one of them. What we're exploring is the likelihood that what's going on is the product of the same arrogance, incompetence, and corruption that the medical industry and its tame politicians have displayed so abundantly in recent decades. That possibility deserves a space of its own for discussion, and that's what we're doing here.

3. If you plan on using rent-a-troll derailing or disruption tactics, please go away. I'm quite familiar with the standard tactics used by troll farms to disrupt online forums, and am ready, willing, and able -- and in fact quite eager -- to ban people permanently for engaging in them here. Oh, and I also lurk on other Covid-19 vaccine skeptic blogs, so I'm likely to notice when the same posts are showing up on more than one venue.

4. If you don't believe in treating people with common courtesy, please go away. I have, and enforce, a strict courtesy policy on my blogs and online forums, and this is no exception. The sort of schoolyard bullying that takes place on so many other internet forums will get you deleted and banned here. No, I don't care if you disagree with that: my journal, my rules.

With that said, the floor is open for discussion.

My impulse is to add a little rider to your examples of TINA situations. The rider is AFAIK or AFAWK: So Far As I (we) Know.

Someone who has posted on this forum has suffered from a cancer that does not allow them to eat. A liquid meal has to be injected into an ostomy to allow them to survive. They really miss eating and the pleasures thereof. I never heard of such a situation until it was reported. There are reports of saints who live entirely on scents of food, almost like the angels who are pleased by incense and fragrances. I do not know such a person, but neither do I rule them out arbitrarily, based solely on my limited range of acquaintances. We truly do not know what people are capable of doing when sufficiently aligned with spirit.

I concur that if a TINA statement always comes with a pre-existing limiting condition (if we want our bodies to maintain...our species to survive...if we wish to reconcile) then it may very well appear that TINA to what we know of from past experience and present circumstances.

But I contend that the universe is always going to be wilder, woolier, weirder, wetter, and more indeterminate than we, as human mortals can possibly conceive.

And therefore, the Third Option I like to champion may turn out to be something entirely unexpected opening out before us or emerging from depths unsuspected within us. I think it is wiser to always leave room for the possibility that the Lucretian Swerve may pop out from around the next corner and shout at me, “Surprise! Ha, ha! You thought you had it all figured out dintcha?”

I do not deny that conciliation takes an enormous amount of hard work and a willingness to make that effort on the part of all participants. But then, there is always the alternative that we all go to our graves never having completed the tedious, costly, and difficult process. Meteorites, grand basalt eruptions, and any number of Pale Riders of Horses could intervene during our brief span on this Stage. The whole question could become a matter for moot court. The grace of God could descend upon our heads like tongues of fire and grant us an instantaneous gift of mutual understanding, requiring no work on our part.

In war and conflict there are many tactics and strategies. These show up as adages. Fight fire with fire. Don’t be where the enemy expects you. All I am saying is that we cannot know off hand which of these tactics and strategies will work in a given situation. As I recall it was a bus boycott that forced certain mercantile concessions during the Civil Rights struggles in the segregated South.

That does not rule out or disparage the grinding hard work that went on behind the public scenes: the lobbying, the appeals to conscience, the meetings with fellow pastors in white churches, the money secretly contributed by the author of Gone With the Wind. The sit-ins and boycotts were like the flowers to the roots and stems of other contributing factors: the great migration to the North, the need of war workers for industry, the arming of Negro soldiers in WWI, the disturbing ramifications of images of Black Panthers serving breakfasts to children AND maintaining military bearing and discipline...and thousands of other invisible efforts in private homes and segregated schools.

The money-rooted mass delusions of the color bar and other types of racism were not conquered by force. But force was not absent from the struggle either. Nor is it absent even yet. Those delusions still exist and cannot be wholly overcome, AFAIK. But they can be opposed and limited by countervailing forces of both body and spirit, of law and mind and heart and laughter.

As I see things, ‘if’ is a key that opens at least as many doors as it locks. For here and now, we’ll do well to trust in God AND tie our camels. Because EITHER-OR binary thinking is the core of every Dividing Line we draw between Us and the Other. AFAIK.
