Greetings, JMG. While this question involves using runes for divination, I think the question is one you can still readily answer.
I have started three-rune draws for daily divinations, with the runes being the answer to my question, “what do I most need to understand about the next twenty-four hours.” Should I decide ahead of divination how to interpret the sequence, or should I discover myself how to interpret the sequence over two or more weeks of daily divinations? Many rune manuals/books suggest specific ways to interpret the sequence of runes, while LRM, which I’m using as an additional reference for basic divination, suggests (albeit with tarot cards in mind) that you should try to envision a story or process that could explain what the three cards represent, and then reflect on if the events of the past day matched what you wrote or what they could mean otherwise.
Maybe others who use runes have their own input they'd like to add. Thanks to all!
