It would not surprise me in the least to see that.
I do not believe that this is their conscious motivation, however, what it amounts to is taking peoples' $$$-- their salary, their pension (or years accumulated towards pension), their benefits, and so on. Also, ruining businesses.
We've seen a clear pattern of that so far, and there seems to be a strangely strong momentum towards continuing.
What can they take? They will take it-- and take and take and take-- as long as they can.
