sacred geometryIt's almost midnight, so we can proceed with a new Magic Monday. Ask me anything about occultism and I'll do my best to answer it. Any question received by midnight Monday Eastern time will get an answer. (Any question received after then will not get an answer, and will more than likely just be deleted.) If you're in a hurry, or suspect you may be the 143,916th person to ask a question, please check out the very rough version 1.0 of The Magic Monday FAQ here.

The diagram to the left?  The three primary transcendent functions in classic sacred geometry, the
√2 (square root of 2) √3 (square root of 3), and φ (Golden Section) ratios, expressed geometrically by the square and its diagonal, the triangle and its altitude, and the pentagon and pentagram. The last obstacle to the reprinting of my Sacred Geometry Oracle is finally out of the way, the cards are rolling off the presses of a firm in Malta -- not at all inappropriate, as Malta has famous prehistoric temples with fascinating sacred geometry -- and I expect to be able sometime soon to announce a firm release date rather earlier than the publisher had expected. So some sacred geometry seems appropriate!

I've had several people ask about tipping me for answers here, and though I certainly don't require that I won't turn it down. You can use the button above to access my online tip jar. If you're interested in political and economic astrology, or simply prefer to use a subscription service to support your favorite authors, you can find my Patreon page here and my SubscribeStar page here.

Bookshop logoI've also had quite a few people over the years ask me where they should buy my books, and here's the answer. Bookshop.org is an alternative online bookstore that supports local bookstores and authors, which a certain other gargantuan corporation doesn't, and I now have a shop there, which you can check out here. Please consider patronizing it if you'd like to purchase any of my books online.

And don't forget to look up your Pangalactic New Age Soul Signature at CosmicOom.com.

With that said, have at it!

Do you think it's possible then that what changed around 1980 is that the usual limits on demonic activity were eased dramatically as a means of providing us with strict retributive justice?

Do you know what kind of factors could cause the divine to give more leeway than usual? Could a massive amount of collective karma mixed with a strong antireligious streak and a massive number of people going off into demonolatry do it?

Why does the divine give them permission to act against us at all?

Because (IMHO) the Divine is not necessarily always on humanity's side. It has much bigger "fish to fry" than the destiny of our species, and it may be frying some of them right now, with us as part of the fuel for its fire.

Is it sort of a push me -pull you sort of thing. The ecosystem needs both demons and angelic beings, and they keep in some sort of dynamic balance. So sometimes, demons have less restrictions to restore the balance.

The first thing that popped into my mind as I read this comment was Revelation 20:7, "And when the thousand years shall be finished, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, and shall go forth, and seduce the nations, which are over the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, and shall gather them together to battle, the number of whom is as the sand of the sea." While I would not propose this as an infallible prophecy of the literal end of the physical world, I can't help but think the traditional lore is helpful here. I suspect the demonic is being given greater leeway in what it can do, and that this is part of a divine scheme that we can only guess at. I do suspect that it has something to do with the collective decisions made in the late 70s and early 80s. A new world must be born, and maybe we tossed aside the chance for a relatively peaceful way of doing it?

It occurs to me that by and large modern industrialized cultures don't really believe demons exist, even (especially?) within religious settings. Just as they don't really believe in any other supernatural events or entities.

So all the things folks did to avoid malicious forces, beings, and so on, have been lost over a significant part of the world's population, remembered by a few folks, but not widely practiced anymore.

Might part of the reason why demons were weak simply be that preventatives against them were widely in place, and without such measures, they can affect more and further?

If so, that might be traced to industrialization, urbanization, and the accompanying mass migrations of folks. If you can't get the things you used to wash the floors in your new location, use what your neighbors use, and if that's New! Improved! whatever in a bottle!, it might just not have the natural ability to defend against the entities the stuff you mixed up back in the village did, even if it's more effective on the material plane. And if you do go buy something that purports to be the same, well, it's a proprietary formula, and may or may not really be the same things you think it to be.

I attended a fairly prestigious, Evangelica seminary. While I was there I met a man who was hearing voices that he thought were from God. I tried to talk to some of peers and professors about this. Almost every single one of them was totally uncomfortable even considering the possibility of demonic activity. It was literally easier to talk to atheists about the possibility that the things Jesus was battling in the New Testament might be real. I have no problem believing that modern day theology has completely lost its ability to do spiritual warfare.

To further support your theory, its interesting that the places that went off the deep end are mostly places with the dead relics of the church. African nations did not drink the vaccine cool aid. Neither did Russia with its recent religious revival. But France? Australia? The secular blue portions of America? These are all places that had a spiritual tradition and by and large left it behind without replacing it with anything.
