They're compatible, and in fact a fusion of the two works better than either one by itself. Elect two good dates and times, one for making and the other for consecrating a talisman; make the talisman during the first, wrap it in silk or linen, and then on the second election do a full GD-style talisman consecration ritual. You'll see remarkable results. (You can also make a so-so election work very well with proper ritual, or simply make and consecrate the talisman in the right planetary hour.)
