creation of the worldIt's getting on for midnight, so we can proceed with a new Magic Monday. Ask me anything about occultism and I'll do my best to answer it. Any question received by midnight Monday Eastern time will get an answer. (Any question received after then will not get an answer, and will likely just be deleted.) If you're in a hurry, or suspect you may be the 143,916th person to ask a question, please check out the very rough version 1.0 of The Magic Monday FAQ here.

I've had several people ask about tipping me for answers here, and though I certainly don't require that I won't turn it down. You can use the button above to access my online tip jar. If you're interested in political and economic astrology, or simply prefer to use a subscription service to support your favorite authors, you can find my Patreon page here and my SubscribeStar page here.

Bookshop logoI've also had quite a few people over the years ask me where they should buy my books, and here's the answer. Bookshop.org is an alternative online bookstore that supports local bookstores and authors, which a certain other gargantuan corporation doesn't, and I now have a shop there, which you can check out here. Please consider patronizing it if you'd like to purchase any of my books online.

And don't forget to look up your Pangalactic New Age Soul Signature at CosmicOom.com.

With that said, have at it!

***This Magic Monday is now closed. See you next week!***

Ouch. Somehow that obvious point didn't occur to me. I hope for her sake that she avoids that outcome.

I found the contract, and it is far worse than it seemed. I'll give a summary of a few of the more troubling sections of the contract, although really nearly the entire thing is disturbing.

The first reason is the "SALE OF SOUL AGREEMENT", which makes it clear that any being serving in a capacity recognizable as vaguely like a judge may interpret and enforce this contract. Any court, real, imagined, or otherwise has the authority to interpret and enforce this contract. That is a disturbingly broad definition of who has jurisdiction.

Section 4A outlines the use of the soul, and includes a number of options explicitly stated which are profoundly troubling. 4C and D make it clear that attempts to reclaim the soul are superseded by the terms of the contract, which again, may be interpreted by any being claiming authority to be a judge.

Section 4J expressly permits Liminal to transfer any rights she has to anyone at anytime, for any length of time.

Section 5C states that the parties will refuse to recognize any jurisdiction which attempts to invalidate any part of the contract, unless it can prove it has sole authority to rule on the question of soul ownership.

Sections 5G and 5H make it clear that no matter how bad this gets, the contract remains binding.

Section 6D requires the buyer's free consent, and not the seller's for changes, which means that coercion used against the seller is only forbidden to the extent it would be forbidden within whatever jurisdiction ends up interpreting this. Since we have no idea which afterlife entities will rule on it, given the earlier statement any being sitting in a "court" can interpret this, this is a major risk.

What do you think will happen to people who sign that contract?

Directly before reading this post My wife and I pulled a stubborn tick out of my hounds neck that wouldn’t release with the rubbing technique. The head stayed in unfortunately. He will go to the vet for a check up. I can’t help but connect that event to this thread.

Like the saying goes, do stupid things, win stupid prizes.

Selling your soul to someone who defines herself as the Devil is about as stupid as it gets. Just because someone believes that gods and demons and other spiritual entities are imaginary doesn't mean they don't exist. I have a feeling these particular atheists are going to have to learn the hard way such things are very much real...

I'd say the odds are fairly high it'll be a malevolent entity. The main problem being that the provisions against coercion: beneficent entities will respect that. Malevolent ones will be able to game things a great deal....

I hadn't ever heard of Liminal Warmth before, but checked out the post just for curiosity. She seems to have thoughtful things to say about occult studies, and coding (2 of my interests).

Has she stated publicly that she's the devil? Other than the whole buying and selling of souls, and a strange profile photo, she doesn't strike me as overtly evil. Though I do admit I'm probably missing some context.

Would there be harm in reading her blog? I like reading interesting things, but I don't want to be subject to some malevolent magical working by being exposed to her writings. (I feel silly even saying that, but I'm still working through my own skepticism about magic).
