Hieronymus machineI had occasion earlier today to check up on the state of the art in radionics.  Radionics?  It's a weird hybrid of sorcery and technology, in which a variety of electro-etheric devices such as the Hieronymus Machine (an example is on the left) are used in place of the typical medieval technology of wands and star-spangled robes. Rather more than a decade ago I built a Hieronymus machine, collected all the necessary information to use it, and spent a while getting a good sense of its potentials for spirituality, divination, magic, and healing; I don't do a lot with it any more, but I've still got my endearingly clumky homebrew machine, and get good results with it when I do use it.

I was pleased to find that my old friend Joseph Max has gone from creating his own finely crafted radionics devices to selling high-end radionics machines -- his site, Aetheric Arts Labs, is worth visiting just to wallow in the glorious dieselpunk esthetic of his products. (Here's an essay, lavishly illustrated, about the construction of his first Hieronymus machine.) I was less pleased to find that there's not much else available out there, and most of it is very pricey. Joseph's machines are expensive, but they're worth it because of the quality of the materlal and workmanship; a lot of the others are pricey because the manufacturers are charging what the market can bear.

Me, I like to see occult knowledge and practice finding its way to as many people as possible, and that's difficult in this case when you have to shell out $1500-$3000 for a device that you can build for about $50 if you buy all the parts new. I have a lot of talented readers, a fair number of them can read simple schematic diagrams and build things, and it occurs to me that a lot of people just now are interested in finding a way to bring in money that doesn't depend on selling their time to an employer. So it occurs to me to wonder aloud if anyone out there is interested in learning how to make Hieronymus machines, which can sold via the usual online venues; there's apparently a substantial market, and a good practical model for a reasonable price (say, $200-$300) would likely fly off the shelves.

I've got a very substantial collection of documents on the Hieronymus machine, including T. Galen Hieronymus' original patent, the schematic of a later transistorized version, and detailed instructions for manufacture and use, which I will make available to anyone who wants them and sends me a PM or a comment marked NOT FOR POSTING with an email address. What I ask in return is one of the machines you make. Interested?  Let me know. Baffled by all this?  Well, that's why my journal allows comments...

***Update**** -- I've received an enthusiastic response to this, which is great. One resource that might be helpful to those who plan on building their own Hieronymus machine using the transistorized circuit I've included is this detailed discussion by Joseph Max. The comments are particularly useful.

***Update 2*** -- I'm temporarily suspending my offer as Magic Monday draws closer. Interest in this project turned out to be much higher than I expected; rather than the half dozen or so packets I expected to email, I've sent out close to 40, and I want to make sure I don't get a couple of hundred requests while Magic Monday is in process! I'm going to look into other ways to make information on radionics and building your own Hieronymus machine available to those who are interested; I'll post something here as soon as I've gotten that worked out. In the meantime, if you're frantic for plans, the Wayback Machine has something to get you started,  and Joseph Max's discussion of how he built one using the same circuit is not to be missed...

PM'd. A more general question - What did you personally use the machine for? It looks like a technological way to mess with the life force, but I don't at this time understand all what it actually does with said life force. Maybe this will become clear with the papers.

Hi John Michael
Well I'm doing a little very low level Radionics project just now which I'll post about once I've done more work but ...
meanwhile there are also some pendulums that can be used as Radionic broadcasts; generically known as energy pendulums, or Egyptian pendulums.
There are the Isis, Karnak, Osiris, Nova and the impressive Fench Universal Pendulum with 48 setting . These are the ones I'm working with.
here are some links
for those who want to check them out - plenty of other sites too
https://emeraldinnovations.co.uk/pendulums/egyptian/isis-pendulum
https://www.baj-pendulums.co.uk
https://www.pendulumalchemy.com/power-isis-9.html

BTW I recommend a little caution - some of the devices need care and practice - especially the Osiris; and the French Universal Pendulum.
All the best

Hi JMG & all,

First I'm delighted to see this. Radionics is one of the areas of occult study I want to explore more in the future. I'm not sure when that will be, but it would be great to do some kind of correspondence course around this material in the future, and then go into a mad scientists lab to make some things. (You did say once the world needs more mad scientists!)

My friend Nigel Ayers, of the long running ambient / post-industrial / ritual music project Nocturnal Emissions has also made some Radionics machines as this is one of his interests as well. They can be viewed here for inspiration: http://www.nigelayers.com/pages/desire.html. I find these kind of things very inspirational.

Are you at all familiar with Harry Oldfield's work? He used electromagnetics to vibrate various types of quartz crystals to sound vibration used for healing. His site is worth exploring. I read a book on him I get from interlibrary loan once, very illuminative: http://www.electrocrystal.com/crystalsound.html

Anyway, it seemed that last time I searched there was a website for radionics practitioners where subscription gave access to a lot of otherwise hard to find papers, journals, etc. I was just doing some googling, but haven't been able to locate it yet. I thought I'd bookmarked it for the future, but such is the internet (it sure ain't what it used to be!)

Anyway, I do hope you get some takers on your offer & suggestion. There is a lot to explore and be (re)developed in this area.

To all who apply: success to your work!

Justin

OP here
Sorry I wasn't clear
Yes as pendulums they can be used for dowsing but they can also be used as broadcast devices by simply swinging them around, and around and ... and .. :) so good for healing people and rooms. I haven't tried distant healing yet, or gardens - more things to put on the project list.

How to get the machine to you

Hi JMG

It sounds like a great deal to me. I'd love to take you up on the offer however I don't know when I'd be able to get to it. I tend to only be able to get through a fraction of the ideas I have. Would there be a preferred time for you to get the machine by and would your postal address be including in the pack of files? Or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

Thanks!

That is fascinating. I don’t think I have a means of comparison but a quick search shows that corn is usually 2 meters tall. I don’t know how tall Archdruids are but that looks more like 3 or 4 to me... I might have a good opportunity to see its effects in agriculture while I’m in Mexico as a friend of mine just started a permaculture farm close to where I live and have been helping him with some things once a week and have mentioned radionics to him before. Since you mentioned them a while ago and I am saying this with no background so I don’t know if it makes sense, I’ve wondered if fractal structures would enhance their effect, as they do for antennae as well as if mercury has some sort of effect since I know that the most powerful lingas have a mercury core they called the rasalinga inside of a body of granite. Since mercury is very dense, it holds an etheric charge for a very long time for what I’ve heard. I don’t know how to solidify mercury at all, as the lingas have a solidified mercury core accomplished by some sort of indian alchemy but maybe some day I’ll find out!

Is radionics related to orgone accumulators?

JMG, how’d that tall corn taste? Did it breed true the following year?

My hands are a bit full with CGD, Alchemy and Astrology for several years at least but all things etheric tug on my imagination. Aside from basic electronics competency, what sort of skills and books would be best to study in order to take you up on that offer someday?

But...

Do you have the specs for a Tillinghast Generator :).

Let me ponder this...Might take you up on it. My local bar has a side business selling vacuum tubes from the Czech Republic. (Seriously, it is a great bar, and the guy who runs is is a long time John Bircher. I love the place)

Would cinnabar do as a substitute for solidified mercury?

Your earth pipe has me fascinated. A quick search online led to nothing. Can you explain how you created it? My garden could use some extra oomph.

Yeah- I did some of the early stages of solidifying mercury back in the day.
Essentially there are 3 parts to it; purifying the mercury, multiplying it's power by treating with various herbs and in various ways, and finally solidifying it.
I still have a few of the ones I made.
How we didn't die of mercury poisoning is still a mystery to me :)

Isn't there another name for the "earth pipe"? Some while ago I found plans for this device, but I can't find the link or my downloaded plans. I wanted to try this in my garden, but got distracted and now I can't find it.

Thanks
Kay

Back when I did ham radio, over 40 years ago now, I knew an old ham who would periodically growl:

"Hang onto your vacuum tubes, boys! Transistors is only a passing fad!"
