Oh dear gods. I knew the organization was a hot mess, but I had no idea that it was that much of a hot mess. You could justify a chart that complex for an organization with several million members. For an organization ADF's size? It guarantees that all real decisionmaking will be handled by an informal circle of cronies who use backchannel methods to get around the unworkable structure.
By contrast, AODA, the Druid order I headed, had a national leadership strictly limited to seven persons, and ran very smoothly. Of course we weren't trying to be all things to all people; the Grand Grove, our national leadership body, existed for the sole purposes of maintaining a training program, chartering local groves, and fielding inquiries. OBOD, the largest Druid order in the world these days, has a comparably simple structure.
