Toward Ecosophy

The thing I noted all along about the whole push for paid Pagan clergy is that the only people who wanted it were the ones who wanted to be paid Pagan clergy -- I don't recall ever meeting anyone who wanted to be one of the parishioners! What it came down to is that some people wanted to be paid to be Pagan, but they weren't willing to do it the honest way -- the way that shamans, artists, poets, and priests have done for millennia -- by providing people with services for which the people are willing to pay. That's a workable model -- it's the one that pays my bills, for example -- but it requires you to find out what people want and then provide them with that, rather than just doing whatever you want and having people flock around adoringly for undefined reasons...
