Toward Ecosophy

In ceremonial magic you don't surrender to the energies. In some kinds of ritual, the kind that involve invoking divine energies, you allow the invoked energy to flow into you, but you are not "surrendering into" or "merging with" -- your will remains in control of the whole process, welcoming the energy into you, directing it toward your intention, and then releasing it with gratitude. Changes in consciousness happen quite adequately under those conditions!
