Mexican politicians lacking critical thinking skills? I've never heard of that... haha.
I remember during that period too, that actually nothing was happening. It was very lighthearted overall though, I remember people saying that their Christmas outfit was going to be a bulletproof vest and a gas mask, since the cartel leader Beltrán Leiva had just been murdered scandalously a week prior.
I actually didn't know the mexican flu was a thing out of mexico. Every year they would scare with chicken flu, swine flu, mad cow whatever.
The good thing was that nobody trusts the government, hence the "vacations".
I didn’t know the WHO changed their definition, I will look into that, but I am not surprised.
