I’m completely against the vaccine mandates and scapegoating, but in some cases their point does not necessarily rely on lack of efficacy of vaccines. With any vaccine, some people are immunocompromised and cannot receive vaccinations even if they want to, some are too young to be vaccinated, and even highly effective vaccines do not work in every single case—if you administer millions of doses, even a 99.9% effective vaccine will not work for quite a few people. So other people being vaccinated can actually protect vulnerable individuals when the vaccine in question is effective. Of course, in this case the vaccine is not effective and doesn’t do what they’re pretending it does, is IMO more dangerous than the disease, and they are stretching this argument far beyond such exceptional cases.
