Well, this appears to be my stumbling point.
I used to study physics many years ago, and while I learned more about how the world works after leaving college than while I was there (and this was back when college education still meant something), I still seem to have some thought patterns I can't break out of.

What counts as "physical"?
How much of that is generated/influenced by consciousness?
Are the boundaries even knowable?
In fact, is anything at all knowable?
If I let go of that, I feel I'm letting go of reality itself.
In other words, I risk loosing touch with the "real world". In my case, the physical reality as described by physics and inferred by my sensory organs is what grounds me and connects me to Life. That's why I plant trees instead of praying for them, and care for my land and all living things here as my family.
So I guess my deeper question would be:
How far can a human go into the world of magic without falling out the other side? That is, without unwittingly neglecting the physical side of Life and all its manifestations?
I think I'm more or less ready for another step or two, even if I can't understand them fully just yet :)
