Doesn't everyone in England sing "God save our gracious King" et al? And doesn't the Anglican church include prayers for the monarch in every Sunday's collects? I think that as king, and head of the Church of England, he's pretty much given blanket permission for prayers to be sent his way. I'm less sure of the Princess of Wales, but check and see if the church is praying for her -- if they are, that's a pretty good indication that it's acceptable. (With public figures on that scale, a little wiggle room is available.)
