Toward Ecosophy

Kundalini, the energy in the center at the base of the spine, is etheric energy. As it rises up the spine, however, it transmutes to a higher mode of energy as it passes each of the chakras, so that what reaches the crown chakra is mental plane energy, which is why raising it successfully leads to the transcendence of the need for further incarnations. The classic ways of doing this, kriya yoga and laya yoga, are dangerous enough that you need the close supervision of an experienced guru to avoid serious risks, but there are gentler, more indirect ways to do the same thing.
