'Apportation' is, if not an everyday, certainly an every-few-months-or -so, occurrence in this house, and is just part of the way things are here.
Visitors, with no known psychic or occult interests, to whom it has happened now accept it quite happily. It has even happened in such a way as to make a point to them!
A sense of humour - thankfully - seems to accompany the phenomenon.
