1) Until you know how this is done, don't try to do it. Focus on your magical training; as you learn more about magic, you'll learn ways to do such things. "One step at a time" really is good advice in magic.
2) I've only ever encountered that idea in the OSA system; it may be elsewhere, but I don't happen to have seen it. It's one of the things that made me take the OSA material very seriously, as it helped me get past a lot of pointless and unproductive anger and then deal with a lot of miserable childhood experience that underlay that.
3) That's certainly what Schopenhauer thought. I'm inclined to believe that he was right.
