FWIW: I keep different journals for different purposes. My main journal, a blank book, records what practices I do each day; an analysis of the previous day's divination and the current day's divination; and general notes on any grove and lodge rituals I perform on that day. I have a separate meditation journal in which I write down the theme I'm meditating on and what I thought about on that theme, and I always record the page number that the theme is taken from and the date on which I did the meditation. These are standard 8 1/2 x 11 spiral-bound notebooks. Some of them are dedicated to a single book or course; others mix them up, but I write on the front of each from which book(s) I got the themes and the full range of dates the notebook covers, so it's easy to find a specific book and then a theme from that book. I also have a few specialized journals, blank books or notebooks. All of these are in chronological order and all are handwritten. This system works well for me.
