George Winslow PlummerIt's a little after for midnight, so we can proceed with a new Magic Monday. Ask me anything about occultism and I'll do my best to answer it. With certain exceptions, any question received by midnight Monday Eastern time will get an answer. Please note:  Any question received after then will not get an answer, and in fact will just be deleted. I've been getting an increasing number of people trying to post after these are closed, so will have to draw a harder line than before.) If you're in a hurry, or suspect you may be the 143,916th person to ask a question, please check out the very rough version 1.0 of The Magic Monday FAQ hereAlso: I will not be putting through or answering any more questions about practicing magic around children. I've answered those in simple declarative sentences in the FAQ. If you read the FAQ and don't think your question has been answered, read it again. If that doesn't help, consider remedial reading classes; yes, it really is as simple and straightforward as the FAQ says.

The picture?  I'm working my way through photos of my lineage, focusing on the teachers whose work has influenced me. Before Gladys Plummer, last week's honoree, became head of the Societas Rosicruciana in America, her husband George Winslow Plummer was the head of the order. For all practical purposes, he was also the founder; his teacher Sylvester Gould, whom we'll discuss next week, started the ball rolling, but Gould died suddenly in 1909 and Plummer picked up the pieces and went from there. Plummer was an enthusiastic Freemason and had received Rosicrucian initiation from Gould, but not a complete system of teaching or initiation; he created those by close but not uncritical study of the Rosicrucian and occult literature of his time, and tried to find common ground between occult teaching and science. He was also a devout if eccentric Christian, and ended up being consecrated as a bishop in an independent church with connections to the Orthodox churches. Though I don't share his religion, he's one of the role models from whom I've tried to learn.

Buy Me A Coffee

Ko-Fi

I've had several people ask about tipping me for answers here, and though I certainly don't require that I won't turn it down. You can use either of the links above to access my online tip jar; Buymeacoffee is good for small tips, Ko-Fi is better for larger ones. (I used to use PayPal but they developed an allergy to free speech, so I've developed an allergy to them.) If you're interested in political and economic astrology, or simply prefer to use a subscription service to support your favorite authors, you can find my Patreon page here and my SubscribeStar page here.

Bookshop logoI've also had quite a few people over the years ask me where they should buy my books, and here's the answer. Bookshop.org is an alternative online bookstore that supports local bookstores and authors, which a certain gargantuan corporation doesn't, and I have a shop there, which you can check out here. Please consider patronizing it if you'd like to purchase any of my books online.

And don't forget to look up your Pangalactic New Age Soul Signature at CosmicOom.com.

With that said, have at it!

***This Magic Monday is now closed. See you next week!***

Another international prayer network would be a good thing.

1, what's a great book for learning about the planetary deities and their stories. We talk much about them, but is there a recommended book detailing the mythologies of each deity?

2, I had the issue of misinterpreting or not following enough divination readings I got this year, and it's resulted in making mistakes that could cost me badly down the line. i am new to divination and
occultism, so it's inevitable I'll make mistakes.

I want to work on those weaknesses and habits that drove me towards my mistakes. I do daily journaling but want other practical means to address my weaknesses, which can involve seeing my strengths and utilizing them. Does this following broad program I thought of sound like both a good means of occult study and to to better myself in this incarnation for the next months -

• studying my natal chart and the astrological signs and planets, and how they relate to each other and to myself, including by making a memory palace cataloguing everything
• studying my numerology to identify more strengths/flaws and connect them to my incarnation's goal
• identifying my strengths and weaknesses per these sources and planning affirmations, spiritual exercises, etc. to address or utilize them
• using my gained knowledge of astrology to also strengthen my learning of geomancy

Is it possible it also serves as a binding, and makes it harder for people to seek help beyond that?

Not specifically in their "planetary" sense, but a few works on Greek/Roman myth you may find helpful:

Hesiod's Theogony and Homer's Iliad and Odyssey were considered by the ancient Greeks and Romans some of the most foundational works on the Gods. Add in the Homeric Hymns, the Aeneid, and Metamorphoses and you'll have very many of the stories that you may find recounted in the summaries/scholarly work below.

Edith Hamilton's Greek Mythology is readable and meant for a general audience, but has serious scholarly chops. Greek Religion by Walter Burkert focuses more on what we know about ancient Greek worship, but includes a discussion of the mythology as well. I've heard good things about Stephen Fry's Mythos, but I haven't checked it out yet.

Hope these help!
Jeff

This sounds like a very good idea, considering the amount of prayer requests there are here.

Pressure Differential

When I was young and I had an earache my dad would take a sheet of newspaper and roll it up tightly into a funnel, then have me lean over our cast iron enameled bath tub, stick the funneled paper into the offending ear, and light the other end on fire. Every time he did that the ear stopped hurting. He explained that it helped correct a pressure imbalance in the inner ear.

I always thought the candles would function the same.

I'm definitely willing to help-- I've already started compiling prayer requests-- but I'm not sure I will be able to commit to an hour or two every day. It depends on the nature of the work; I would need to know a little bit more about it before I can commit. Perhaps if it's something I can do while commuting on trains on weekdays, it's possible. But at the very least, yes, I'd definitely be willing to be one of a few volunteers, as well as do some legwork to help you get it started.

In the meantime, if you are ok with it I will go ahead with what I was already planning, which is to leave a weekly comment with a recap of prayer requests from the previous week's comments (both sites), posted both to the Covid thread and also your main blog comments. As close to opening time as I am able to manage.

Specifically, I think the deals we are discussing here took place in very late 2016 and very early 2017. I do not think it would be unreasonable to expect a very difficult to sweep under the rug uptick in vax-related deaths in late 2023 and early 2024.

Being an eccentric Christian myself, I see this man very interesting.

Sending prayers and Reiki energy

As you requested, I have been sending prayers and Reiki energy for healing and spiritual protection.

You can strengthen the energy sent to you with the following process:
Place one of your hands on her stomach and the other on the baby in her belly. Relax with three deep breaths then ask for the green energy from the highest, most positive healing sources in the universe to flow through your hands. After about 20 minutes, thank the spiritual beings who came to help you.
Then remove your hands.
Repeat three times during the next 24 hours

Peace and Love to your family.
