Cell salts didn't use broad diagnostic categories of that kind. With cell salts, the standard idea was that each salt had a symptom picture -- a set of symptoms that it caused in large doses, and so treated in microdoses. The practitioner would note down each symptom the patient presented with, and then look up the symptoms one at a time in a repertory --
-- and notice which salt or salts matched the majority of the patient's symptoms. That was the salt or salts the patient then took -- say, four doses daily.
