Turning deep chasms into narrow cracks that are easily bridged seems like a worthwhile exercise to me. :)

Many months ago it was said somewhere on one of these Covid posts: "99 out of 100 of all the storm troopers you see are cardboard cut-outs" -

It may be worth adding that, taking the whole of human complexity into account, "99/100's of the chasm you see is a painting on the sidewalk."

Which is to say, that it is easier to put a little "policeman" or a little "scary monster" or a little "reason to be suspicious of others" into a person's head and get THEM to make all the subsequent moves, than it is to mobilise enough actual policemen to control every single person, or deploy actual scary monsters, or actually MAKE the neighbours existentially threatening in every case.

To resist having someone else's little ectomorph take root inside us, requires that we discern well WHICH is the one stormtrooper that actually needs to be fought, and WHICH is the chasm that is unbridgeable, while letting the other cardboard cutouts and sidewalk paintings dissipate of their own accord.
