1) Talk to the publisher. The author has no control over production issues, but if readers contact the publisher asking for a hardback edition, there's a chance that it'll happen.
2) None of the magical virtues are rigid dogmas. All of them are tools you use, or don't use, depending on will. Thus you get to choose what to keep silent about and what to speak about. The important thing is that you don't just blabber on unthinkingly!
