I haven't gone through this yet but judging by the location of the interview, I suspect this one will be meet with much less push back. ;)

Well, we'll see! I've noticed that the basic thesis of the book has actually gotten a certain amount of traction in recent years, in some circles -- though not among the hardcore true believers in Grays from Zeta Reticuli et al.

There will be less push back. Actually, the fact that aliens are not showing up has a name now, Great Filter.

That is the reason why extraterrestrials would not be able to colonize space in large scale. Several explanations are being discussed.

As it often occurs, there is a section on extraterrestrials in the Dec27 section of The Anomalist digest - https://www.anomalist.com/ . Of those, two are on dead aliens. The second link is hidden behind heavy advertisement blockers protection, so I'm relaying the first one:

I've seen this explanation for the silence, "DOOM" one too many times today. Now I realized it is funny that the possibility of just even contact being impossible never dawned on them. Maybe this is a code word for decline?
