We are now in the fourth year of these open posts. When I first posted a tentative hypothesis on the course of the Covid phenomenon, I had no idea that discussion on the subject would still be necessary more than three years later, much less that it would turn into so lively, complex, and troubling a conversation. Still, here we are. Crude death rates and other measures of collapsing public health are anomalously high in many countries, but nobody in authority wants to talk about the inadequately tested experimental Covid injections that are the most likely cause; ~~public health authorities~~ government shills for the pharmaceutical industry are still trying to push through laws that will allow them to force vaccinations on anyone they want; public trust in science is collapsing; and the story continues to unfold.

So it's time for another open post. I have added a new rule (see below, #6):

1. If you plan on parroting the party line of the medical industry and its paid shills, please go away. This is a place for people to talk openly, honestly, and freely about their concerns that the party line in question is dangerously flawed and that actions being pushed by the medical industry and its government enablers are causing injury and death on a massive scale. It is not a place for you to dismiss those concerns. Anyone who wants to hear the official story and the arguments in favor of it can find those on hundreds of thousands of websites.

2. If you plan on insisting that the current situation is the result of a deliberate plot by some villainous group of people or other, please go away. There are tens of thousands of websites currently rehashing various conspiracy theories about the Covid-19 outbreak and the vaccines. This is not one of them. What we're exploring is the likelihood that what's going on is the product of the same arrogance, incompetence, and corruption that the medical industry and its wholly owned politicians have displayed so abundantly in recent decades. That possibility deserves a space of its own for discussion, and that's what we're doing here.

3. If you plan on using rent-a-troll derailing or disruption tactics, please go away. I'm quite familiar with the standard tactics used by troll farms to disrupt online forums, and am ready, willing, and able -- and in fact quite eager -- to ban people permanently for engaging in them here. Oh, and I also lurk on other Covid-19 vaccine skeptic blogs, so I'm likely to notice when the same posts are showing up on more than one venue.

4. If you plan on making off topic comments, please go away. This is an open post for discussion of the Covid epidemic, the vaccines, drugs, policies, and other measures that supposedly treat it, and other topics directly relevant to those things. It is not a place for general discussion of unrelated topics. Nor is it a place to ask for medical advice; giving such advice, unless you're a licensed health care provider, legally counts as practicing medicine without a license and is a crime in the US. Don't even go there.

5. If you don't believe in treating people with common courtesy, please go away. I have, and enforce, a strict courtesy policy on my blogs and online forums, and this is no exception. The sort of schoolyard bullying that takes place on so many other internet forums will get you deleted and banned here. Also, please don't drag in current quarrels about sex, race, religions, etc. No, I don't care if you disagree with that: my journal, my rules.

6. Please don't just post bare links without explanation. A sentence or two telling readers what's on the other side of the link is a reasonable courtesy, and if you don't include it, your attempted post will be deleted.

Please also note that nothing posted here should be construed as medical advice, which neither I nor the commentariat (excepting those who are licensed medical providers) are qualified to give. Please take your medical questions to the licensed professional provider of your choice.

My theory: the COVID vaccine was rushed (emphasis on RUSHED) because of pressure by big money interests who were petrified of an economic collapse if our society took the time to do actual safety and efficacy testing of the vaccines. It would take years, and our debt-ridden house-of-cards economy can only afford to wait “weeks”.

Big money in the US (and also western countries) would rather risk having horrific “adverse events” among the peons than risk losing money (bonds, stocks, commercial real estate, …)

As George Carlin once said about the oligarchs, "it’s a club … and you ain’t in it”. And to the oligarchs, anyone not in the club doesn’t matter in the slightest.

That theory is false, because all other alternatives were actively suppressed. If money interests were petrified of an economic collapse, they would have promoted every possible solution to get out of the mess ASAP.

Vaxxes were actively promoted as the only solution to get out of the mess, which makes me think that the "plandemic" explanation is more legitimate. The insiders used the opportunity to push as many questionable technologies as possible, because the public would be too scared to say no. Moreover, they also kept the public scared by using the media.

Exactly. The mRNA platform have been failing all its clinical trials for over a decade despite the billions that big pharma had thrown at it. In the end, they had all pretty much given up on it officially, and if google hasn't memory-holed it, it was reported around 2016 or so.

So all of a sudden it's the savier against a coronavirus? I know some folks are not really up to speed to all that occurred, but the original comment on a forum with this dedicated focus seems a bit incongruent. Is the system still trying out various 'mitigation' strategies of 'oh we really tried out best and meant well, we didn't know it would be that bad' as the adverse reactions become ever more obvious.

That's one way of putting it.... more accurately, in my opinion, is that if they had used the proper testing and licensing pathways, the whole "pandemic" would have blown over without any intervention, which would have been both a missed "business opportunity" and also a huge humiliation to the whole class of scientists and politicians that had been screaming from the top of their lungs that the end was neigh.... People might have been starting to ask why they were “locking down” and “socially distancing” when the whole thing resolved itself without the whole of mankind being heroically saved by Antony Fauci, Bill Gates and the other pundits.

The vaccines were rushed because the early treatment programs using well trotted and understood. Drugs was being so successful that by the time the vaccines went through the regular regulatory process there wouldn’t be a pandemic to vaccine against.

It was the plan to force the vaccine onto everyone right from the start.

The media propaganda assault that pushed the idea of "collective rights" and attacked individuals for wanting freedom started in March 2020 i.e. the media were arguing in favour of the authoritarian political ideals that justified lockdowns and vaccine mandates.

The media hate propaganda onslaught against "anti-vaxxers" started in April 2020.

In June 2020, the media had already started discussing ways the unvaccinated could be excluded from society once the lockdowns ended.

The propaganda onslaught in 2021 to get as many people as possible to take the vaccine was already there in the first half of 2020 - just at a much lower level. Anyone who was paying attention could see how things were going to go.

I missed the very early push for a vaxx-only solution, as I really paid no attention to the MSM during lockdown, but it is certainly well-established and documented: everything was done to herd us in that direction.

It was therefore not a case of grasping desperately at a straw, but something premeditated.

Yeah, I remember telling people in summer 2020 that there were going to be vaccine mandates and getting called a "conspiracy theorist".

As a meme I once saw goes, "Does anyone have any new conspiracy theories to share? My old ones keep turning into conspiracy facts."
