Open (More or Less) Post on Covid 66

So it's time for another open post. The rules are the same as before:
1. If you plan on parroting the party line of the medical industry and its paid shills, please go away. This is a place for people to talk openly, honestly, and freely about their concerns that the party line in question is dangerously flawed and that actions being pushed by the medical industry et al. are causing injury and death. It is not a place for you to dismiss those concerns. Anyone who wants to hear the official story and the arguments in favor of it can find those on hundreds of thousands of websites.
2. If you plan on insisting that the current situation is the result of a deliberate plot by some villainous group of people or other, please go away. There are tens of thousands of websites currently rehashing various conspiracy theories about the Covid-19 outbreak and the vaccines. This is not one of them. What we're exploring is the likelihood that what's going on is the product of the same arrogance, incompetence, and corruption that the medical industry and its tame politicians have displayed so abundantly in recent decades. That possibility deserves a space of its own for discussion, and that's what we're doing here.
3. If you plan on using rent-a-troll derailing or disruption tactics, please go away. I'm quite familiar with the standard tactics used by troll farms to disrupt online forums, and am ready, willing, and able -- and in fact quite eager -- to ban people permanently for engaging in them here. Oh, and I also lurk on other Covid-19 vaccine skeptic blogs, so I'm likely to notice when the same posts are showing up on more than one venue.
4. If you don't believe in treating people with common courtesy, please go away. I have, and enforce, a strict courtesy policy on my blogs and online forums, and this is no exception. The sort of schoolyard bullying that takes place on so many other internet forums will get you deleted and banned here. Also, please don't drag in current quarrels about sex, race, religious, etc. No, I don't care if you disagree with that: my journal, my rules.
With that said, the floor is open for discussion.
Week’s Wrap-up of Canada’s “Trucker Commission”
(Anonymous) 2022-11-12 04:42 am (UTC)(link)And what of the person he was questioning, Mario Di Tomasso, Ontario’s Deputy Solicitor General? Well, Mario got to complete his testimony on Thursday (Day 21 of the inquiry). A former police superintendent, Di Tomasso was pretty tight-lipped through his 5+ hours in the ‘hot seat’, insisting repeatedly and succinctly that there must never be any political influence, at any level, on police investigations, deployment and operations. And when convoy laywer Brandon Miller asked him if police activities during the protest were politically influenced, Mario paused, took a deep breath and very carefully chose his words in denying it. Miller got Di Tomasso to agree with the statement “And one of the reasons this is the case is that you don’t want police – who probably have the most power out of any officials in the country, domestically – you don’t want them to do things for political reasons, correct?” (This is covered from 9:46:00 to 9:48:30 in the following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Bdq3gBPKTE). Methinks ace lawyer Miller is building a potentially devastating argument/case that will take full effect when Turdeau and his toadies take the stand in a couple of weeks.
Like everyone who has given testimony to date, when Di Tomasso was asked if the Emergencies Act was necessary to break up the protest, he replied no: while it was convenient to have it, all the tools were necessary at the municipal and provincial levels to get the job done. He also did some good finger-pointing at the federal government, stating, “I felt that some of the options that were available to the federal government included the possibility of meeting with and listening to the protesters, the possibility of amending their vaccine mandate.” Something which the Coward Boy King steadfastly refused to do.
But the really interesting things that Di Tomasso said on Thursday was the absolutely whopping lie (which were, of course, repeated in the newspapers): “Let’s not forget there was no loss of life. Nobody got hurt, tear gas was not used. We did not have those ugly scenes of people with bloody heads.” (https://nationalpost.com/news/politics/federal-government-tried-to-wash-its-hands-of-responsibility-in-convoy-protests-ontario-deputy-minister ) I guess the hundreds of hours of live video footage that is out there on the ‘net showing unresisting protesters getting repeatedly kicked in the head and torso and tear gas being employed in large quantities – including a canister of the stuff being deliberately shot point-blank into the leg of a Rebel News reporter – is just “misinformation” ‘cuz, y’know, the whole world is watching these proceedings and we can’t have the image of Canada’s police tarnished or anything.
Hey, I’ve got some good news to round off the week. Friday was Remembrance Day in Canada and in Ottawa it was a really big show. Much bigger crowds than I can recall in at least a decade. Loads of “Veterans for Freedom” were in attendance but they were respectful and did not draw attention to themselves. But the best part was what was NOT there: our Prime Menace. Apparently, he had to go to some “very important” meeting in Cambodia. Yeah. Right. Cambodia. I hope that he isn’t communing with the spirit of Pol Pot while he is there. The more likely reason for his absence is that he does not have the guts to be stared down by 1,000 spitting-mad veterans over how he mistreated the cenotaph, as well as the veterans, during the convoy protest in Ottawa. So, predictably, he pulled a “Justin” – i.e., ran away and hid. Just the sight or sound of him during the ceremonies would have ruined the day for me and a lot of freedom-loving supporters of our veterans, so, good riddance!
Honk honk! Freedom! Liberté!
