I've been traveling this week. In the 3 airports I passed through I noticed that far fewer people are wearing masks now. Maybe 1 in 50 or 60 people. But as for the ones who were wearing masks, those masks were almost all black and wow, the vibe I sensed from the wearers was intense, and especially intense from the ones who appeared to be healthy.
For real, on the plane, the recorded safety message instructed us to take off our mask before attaching the oxygen mask. Nobody laughed.
More sad stories this week about people who have recently died. And last week the daughter-in-law of a colleague almost died after giving birth, from severe hemorrhaging. Given the sociology and the profession, I'd be very surprised if she wasn't fully boosted. Fortunately she seems to be OK now. But I'm not so sure.
