One thing I've been wondering on this whole covid cult is how it ties into the social myth of progress. On the surface the experimental gene therapy is passed off as the new miracle technology as life and nature is further subjugated to scientific advancement.

That certainly covers a fair number of believers, but how many saw the lock downs and work from home as an escape from the soul crushing corporate world? I recall hearing of some of the people during the Y2K non-event 25 years ago who were more worried that they would just have to go back to more of the same. I wonder how many have had enough of progress and the treadmill of consumerism and indentured servitude? The rat race looks to be proving more than just hell for introverts.

I wonder if a subconscious driver for some of the mania is also the stresses of a declining civilization while pretending everything is still progressing? Want more cognitive disconnect with your covid? Though the main hysteria is still from the massive fear spell authorities have been playing. Still that's a lot of emotional energy out there that could find an interesting new direction if the narrative really does unravel.
