I read the article claiming the "3000% Spike in Excess Deaths". It says "during a 49-week period in 2022, there were 5,285 excess deaths in New Zealand."
Those figures are more-or-less in line with other countries. I haven't gone back in time to see if they fiddled with the baselines to make the excess deaths appear lower, as they did in Australia.
Re: New Zealand and population
Stats NZ says total deaths for 2022 were 36,726 vs 33,486 in 2021, which is a 9.7% increase. https://www.stats.govt.nz/information-releases/births-and-deaths-year-ended-june-2022/
Also says 34,932 deaths in 2021 which was 2,319 more than 2020. https://www.stats.govt.nz/information-releases/births-and-deaths-year-ended-december-2021-including-abridged-period-life-table/

There's a graph here https://www.stats.govt.nz/topics/births-and-deaths showing the long term death rates in NZ. A kick up starting in the 2021 timeframe is visible.
Conclusion: Deaths from the vax are in line with other heavily jabbed countries.
