I disagree with several points. First of all, a bonafide narcissist is hidden in plain sight. They are comfortably embedded within the society and won’t be recognized in most circumstances. They are defined as a separate disorder yet they are a cross of a psychopath AND a sociopath at the same time. They are also fully aware of the destruction they cause, that’s why it’s done selectively, hidden, mostly in intimate relationships since it’s private and hard to prove. They also utilize criminal acts strategically. Why we see more of it now - because societies are mobile and anonymous, and they can change environments without repercussions. Also people live longer, so longer living psychopaths are longer around. Morbidly enough, this also applies to children, narcissism starts in childhood, more children survive, more narcissistic children survive..
