Thank you for this! I'm slightly flabbergasted, but there are at least two explanations. The first is that the geomantic hours really do track changes in energies in the cosmos, and foxes are attuned to those. The second is that foxes practice geomancy; I imagine them learning it from one of those odd old hermits who kept the magical traditions going through the 18th and early 19th century, and then passing it down the generations from vixen to kits... ;-)
