We are now in the fourth year of these open posts. When I first posted a tentative hypothesis on the course of the Covid phenomenon, I had no idea that discussion on the subject would still be necessary more than three years later, much less that it would turn into so lively, complex, and troubling a conversation. Still, here we are. Crude death rates and other measures of collapsing public health are anomalously high in many countries, but nobody in authority wants to talk about the inadequately tested experimental Covid injections that are the most likely cause; ~~public health authorities~~ government shills for the pharmaceutical industry are still trying to push through laws that will allow them to force vaccinations on anyone they want; public trust in science is collapsing; and the story continues to unfold.

So it's time for another open post. The rules are the same as before:

1. If you plan on parroting the party line of the medical industry and its paid shills, please go away. This is a place for people to talk openly, honestly, and freely about their concerns that the party line in question is dangerously flawed and that actions being pushed by the medical industry and its government enablers are causing injury and death on a massive scale. It is not a place for you to dismiss those concerns. Anyone who wants to hear the official story and the arguments in favor of it can find those on hundreds of thousands of websites.

2. If you plan on insisting that the current situation is the result of a deliberate plot by some villainous group of people or other, please go away. There are tens of thousands of websites currently rehashing various conspiracy theories about the Covid-19 outbreak and the vaccines. This is not one of them. What we're exploring is the likelihood that what's going on is the product of the same arrogance, incompetence, and corruption that the medical industry and its wholly owned politicians have displayed so abundantly in recent decades. That possibility deserves a space of its own for discussion, and that's what we're doing here.

3. If you plan on using rent-a-troll derailing or disruption tactics, please go away. I'm quite familiar with the standard tactics used by troll farms to disrupt online forums, and am ready, willing, and able -- and in fact quite eager -- to ban people permanently for engaging in them here. Oh, and I also lurk on other Covid-19 vaccine skeptic blogs, so I'm likely to notice when the same posts are showing up on more than one venue.

4. If you plan on making off topic comments, please go away. This is an open post for discussion of the Covid epidemic, the vaccines, drugs, policies, and other measures that supposedly treat it, and other topics directly relevant to those things. It is not a place for general discussion of unrelated topics. Nor is it a place to ask for medical advice; giving such advice, unless you're a licensed health care provider, legally counts as practicing medicine without a license and is a crime in the US. Don't even go there.

5. If you don't believe in treating people with common courtesy, please go away. I have, and enforce, a strict courtesy policy on my blogs and online forums, and this is no exception. The sort of schoolyard bullying that takes place on so many other internet forums will get you deleted and banned here. Also, please don't drag in current quarrels about sex, race, religions, etc. No, I don't care if you disagree with that: my journal, my rules.

Please also note that nothing posted here should be construed as medical advice, which neither I nor the commentariat (excepting those who are licensed medical providers) are qualified to give. Please take your medical questions to the licensed professional provider of your choice.

With that said, the floor is open for discussion.

Flat | Top-Level Comments Only

Over the past week there have been some legal developments in Canada (associated with the fight against medical tyranny) that have been a mix of favourable and unfavourable.

First the unfavourable. Pat King – one of the most prominent members of the 2022 Freedom Convoy – was found guilty by a judge (no jury) in 5 of the 9 charges that had been made against him when he was arrested on February 18, 2022:
1 - Counselling to commit mischief that was not committed
2 - Counselling to obstruct police not committed
3 - Committing mischief
4 - Counsel to commit offence of disobey court order which was not committed
5 - Without lawful excuse disobey lawful court order

Pat was found not guilty for:
1 - Counselling intimidation
2 - Resist / obstruct police
3 - Wrongfully and without lawful authority for purpose of compelling 1 or more person... block 1 or more highways
4 - Wrongfully and without lawful authority for purpose of compelling 1 or more person... intimidate or attempt to intimidate by threat that other injury will be done

Pat's sentencing will take place on January 16-17 of next year. We are all hoping that he will be given time served in remand (which, I believe, was 150 days). Until then Pat is still gagged by bail conditions of having no social media and no interviews. Oh yeah, and his bank accounts are still frozen (have been since February 10, 2022).

Now for the favourable news. Former member of provincial (Ontario) parliament and key Freedom Convoy special event organizer, Randy Hillier, has been cleared of all criminal prosecution associated with the Freedom Convoy and other protests that he was involved in during the ‘medicine time’. Oh - and he called both PM Justin Castreau and Ontario premier Doug Ford "terrorists" when the mandates were in full swing. Randy now has only 5 outstanding provincial charges that were argued in September at the Ontario Court of Appeal. He has been releasing a series of podcasts entitled “Canada - A users guide and owner’s manual.” Randy is sharing his insights as a long-serving politician about how government and laws really work in Canada and how members of public can use this knowledge to protect themselves (the latest podcast is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eU_7tJLjPM).

So now, nearly three years after the 2022 Freedom Convoy, all the major court cases have concluded. We are now waiting for sentencing for Pat King and the judge’s verdict on Chris Barber and Tamara Lich. Many of the accused have been found guilty of ‘mischief’ while many others have had their charges dropped. Most significantly this year was the dropping of a total of 23 charges from 5 cases against Jeremy MacKenzie, leader of the online meme-country Diagolon - the ‘ideologically motivated violent extremist’ organization that was such a threat to the nation that the Emergencies Act (formerly War Measures Act) was invoked by PM Justin Castreau. Not a single conviction of MacKenzie or members of his vast and formidable ‘plaid army’. Or of anyone belonging to any of the 300 ‘far-right terrorist organizations’ that are so dangerous that the Marxist university professor who created the much-discussed list refuses to identify them. How about that, eh?

What is the legal justification for freezing his bank accounts Ron M?

This is draconian and 'new.'

I don't recall this happening to a group of people before.

For the crime of 'mIschief?'

I recall reading about leaders in the Canadian truckers' convoy getting their bank accounts frozen back in '22. It's happened to a large number of "politically incorrect" people in the UK also, including Nigel Farage, who raised quite the ruckus. I'm not up to speed on this issue, but I wouldn't say it's new.

I guess by 'new' I meant since the trucker thing.

Has this been challenged in court? I fail to see how it is legal. How does a financial body

make decisions like this? On what authority? If there hasn't been a court case with a high profile lawyer

leading the charge I would be, or I am, surprised.

There is no legal justification for freezing bank accounts in Canada - but it was done under the Emergencies Act. Our demented Minister of Finance / Deputy Prime Minister Christia Freeland gleefully announced the account freezes on live TV. The compliant and complicit federal police (RCMP) simply told the banks to freeze various accounts and they rolled over without a peep of objection. It was only because investors were pulling huge sums of money out of Canadian banks, precipitating a potential crash or run, that the freeze thawed and the Emergencies Act was repealed. I am sure that there is one or more court case(s) against this illegal activity but it is not on my radar at present.

There are exceptions, though. Pat King's bank account was frozen before invocation of the federal Emergencies Act - no explanation given - and has remained frozen - no explanation given. And Jeremy MacKenzie (aka Raging Dissident) has over the past year had his bank accounts closed by all Canadian banks and threatened with arrest if he sets foot on any bank property - again, no explanation given, just 'we have decided to no longer do business with you'. No financial institution in the country will touch Mackenzie with a 30-foot pole. MacKenzie has no criminal record but gangsters and serial murderers in Canada have no problem 'doing business' with banks. But MacKenzie and King have mocked and humiliated the Prime Minister and in a totalitarian state the 'leader' can tell financial institutions what to do and what not to do. Full stop.
