Open (More or Less) Post on Covid 172

So it's time for another open post. The rules are the same as before:
1. If you plan on parroting the party line of the medical industry and its paid shills, please go away. This is a place for people to talk openly, honestly, and freely about their concerns that the party line in question is dangerously flawed and that actions being pushed by the medical industry and its government enablers are causing injury and death on a massive scale. It is not a place for you to dismiss those concerns. Anyone who wants to hear the official story and the arguments in favor of it can find those on hundreds of thousands of websites.
2. If you plan on insisting that the current situation is the result of a deliberate plot by some villainous group of people or other, please go away. There are tens of thousands of websites currently rehashing various conspiracy theories about the Covid-19 outbreak and the vaccines. This is not one of them. What we're exploring is the likelihood that what's going on is the product of the same arrogance, incompetence, and corruption that the medical industry and its wholly owned politicians have displayed so abundantly in recent decades. That possibility deserves a space of its own for discussion, and that's what we're doing here.
3. If you plan on using rent-a-troll derailing or disruption tactics, please go away. I'm quite familiar with the standard tactics used by troll farms to disrupt online forums, and am ready, willing, and able -- and in fact quite eager -- to ban people permanently for engaging in them here. Oh, and I also lurk on other Covid-19 vaccine skeptic blogs, so I'm likely to notice when the same posts are showing up on more than one venue.
4. If you plan on making off topic comments, please go away. This is an open post for discussion of the Covid epidemic, the vaccines, drugs, policies, and other measures that supposedly treat it, and other topics directly relevant to those things. It is not a place for general discussion of unrelated topics. Nor is it a place to ask for medical advice; giving such advice, unless you're a licensed health care provider, legally counts as practicing medicine without a license and is a crime in the US. Don't even go there.
5. If you don't believe in treating people with common courtesy, please go away. I have, and enforce, a strict courtesy policy on my blogs and online forums, and this is no exception. The sort of schoolyard bullying that takes place on so many other internet forums will get you deleted and banned here. Also, please don't drag in current quarrels about sex, race, religions, etc. No, I don't care if you disagree with that: my journal, my rules.
Please also note that nothing posted here should be construed as medical advice, which neither I nor the commentariat (excepting those who are licensed medical providers) are qualified to give. Please take your medical questions to the licensed professional provider of your choice.
With that said, the floor is open for discussion.
Data from the field
(Anonymous) 2024-11-20 01:01 am (UTC)(link)This year, it was a light cold for 2-3 days for the kid and husband. I however got slammed and it's just ending after about 9 days. I don't know if this is the new variant. It was not this bad last year. FWIW, we are all unvaccinated, but if shedding is a thing, we have all been exposed possibly with me being more exposed.
Day 1 - start with scratchy throat, itchy eyes into extreme mucus. Day 2-3 fever. Day 4 on, sinus drainage into the lungs resulting in respiratory issues/lung inflammation. Now about Day 9 I'm mostly over it. I was only really down in bed days 2-3, the rest I've been functional but with symptoms. Day 6 had some real respiratory issues but manageable with a lot of supplements. Also, I had a tiredness for a few days after the fever which was reminiscent of when I got covid (tested positive) in Summer 2022.
I'm not a doctor, this is not medical advice, here's what I used - for the historic record. We use muscle testing to run through our vitamin, herb and homeopathic options on a given day. I took about 4 doses of Vitamin I throughout, about every other day. This was on the high side. My body usually likes a dose of Vit I every 2-4 weeks over the last 2 years. On the other days this last week, my body liked Natto. Typically, when my body wants Natto, it also wants NAC and Serrapeptase but I was out of serra and NAC the last week. My body never seems to like Vit I and natto/serra/NAC on the same day. I don't know why.
My body also liked at various points the last week, CBD, Vit C, Vit B, Zinc, Magnesium, Multi-vitamin, Tumeric, Cod Liver Oil, a variety of Cell Salts with the focus on the ones for cold and fever, Homeopathic cold/flu remedies (the Hylands* kids nighttime cough and mucus blend helped me get good sleep), Reservatrol (knotweed) tincture, Chinese Skullcap tincture, a detox herb blend (Rheas*), and an Anxiety Herb Blend (Herb Pharm* - it had albizia in it which is a good respiratory herb for me but I didn't have it as a singular tincture). I know there are other helpful herbs and supplements but I didn't have a chance to test everything. *I'm not affiliated with anyone. Just passing on what I used.
I also keep a cut onion in the bedroom while I'm sleeping like the old wives tale but I don't know how much that helps!
