For anyone interested in my dogs cancer saga: she is doing ok and actually looks a bit better than she did a month ago when she was diagnosed with kidney cancer.
She is 4 years old, and has an aggressive cancer in her entire left kidney extending down her ureter to her bladder. She almost died at animal ER 3 weeks ago, I believe because her kidneys couldn’t handle the medications (antibiotics and pain meds). They sent her home with instructions to call when she’s ready for euthanasia.
We then took her home and stopped all kibble dog food made by large corporation (which has lots of rumors online of their food contributing to serious illness and death, presumably due to glyphosate). Also kibble has lots of starches in it which break down into sugars, and I’m reading that cancer needs glucose to grow so removing processed dog food may help for that reason too. But also it’s hard to imagine that any processed food can be that good for you, and that was the main bulk of her diet.
And she has been on fenbendazole for 3 weeks. It’s the only medication that she can tolerate without trouble and maybe it’s helping her! Thank you Temporary Reality for that tip. She still has discomfort, most likely nausea from poor kidney function, but she seems much happier, more energetic, walks/jogs 1-2 miles daily which is much better than when I brought her in and got her diagnosis.

According to the vet she is ‘defying the odds.’
