Thanks for this. I have had the same thought about the weight of projected hopes on children. I never really ran into people who where fully into the "my children are extra special with a special, extra-special destiny" myself or if I did I didn't ever have much contact with them.

I guess even random chance will yield accurate predictions some of the time.
