That's certainly an option. Do some divination to be sure it's a good idea, and then spend some time meditating on the goddess and her symbolism; praying to her and asking her permission is also a good idea. Once you've done that, and practiced the SoP in its new form long enough that you can do it without thinking about making the substitution, you can go on to the grove work.
