2) In my cosmology, all of these labels are too arbitrary to be worth anything. Different souls move toward the Divine in different ways and in different sequences of experiences -- the spiritual path is not a simple, step-by-step, paint-by-numbers kind of thing!
Observe a tree as it grows from shoot to sapling to full-grown tree; there are no fixed labels and no rigid lines between one year's growth and the next, nor do any two trees grow in the same way. The growth and unfolding of each individual soul is like that. As Krishnamurti said, truth is a pathless land.
There's a whole boatload of dangers in the common notion of initiations as fixed stages. The best way to avoid those dangers is not to worry about whether or not you've achieved this or that initiation, or whether you will achieve it, and never, ever claim any spiritual status; that always is just a way of feeding the ego. Just set all that aside and keep doing your practices. Your Higher Self and the various higher entities that work with it know what you need, and will get you the necessary experiences as you need them.
