I'm wondering about how important it is to have a coherent narrative in one's life. It seems to me that the people who do tend to have much more unified will than those of us who have no 'life story' but just see it as 'one darned thing after another'. There is the very large exception of those whose life narrative is one of victim-hood, but it occurs to me that perhaps their wills are focused too-- such people seem to be very good at ginning up situations to fuel their sense of victimhood, after all.
Do you think that it is worth the effort to find some procrustrean narrative to fit one's experiences into as one means to assist with disordered will?
