Open (More or Less) Post on Covid 147

you're earlyWe are now in the third year of these open posts. As the phrase "died suddenly" repeats in the mass media like a mantra, statistics for work days lost to illness and all-cause mortality mount up in heavily vaccinated nations, and more and more ugly facts about the official response to Covid spill out into public, we are entering what may well turn out to be the most difficult period of the Covid disaster -- the phase in which denial rises in lockstep with the death rate, and a great many people try not to admit what has been done to them by the people and institutions they trusted. It could get ugly, folks.

So it's time for another open post. The rules are the same as before:

1. If you plan on parroting the party line of the medical industry and its paid shills, please go away. This is a place for people to talk openly, honestly, and freely about their concerns that the party line in question is dangerously flawed and that actions being pushed by the medical industry et al. are causing injury and death. It is not a place for you to dismiss those concerns. Anyone who wants to hear the official story and the arguments in favor of it can find those on hundreds of thousands of websites.

2. If you plan on insisting that the current situation is the result of a deliberate plot by some villainous group of people or other, please go away. There are tens of thousands of websites currently rehashing various conspiracy theories about the Covid-19 outbreak and the vaccines. This is not one of them. What we're exploring is the likelihood that what's going on is the product of the same arrogance, incompetence, and corruption that the medical industry and its tame politicians have displayed so abundantly in recent decades. That possibility deserves a space of its own for discussion, and that's what we're doing here.

3. If you plan on using rent-a-troll derailing or disruption tactics, please go away. I'm quite familiar with the standard tactics used by troll farms to disrupt online forums, and am ready, willing, and able -- and in fact quite eager -- to ban people permanently for engaging in them here. Oh, and I also lurk on other Covid-19 vaccine skeptic blogs, so I'm likely to notice when the same posts are showing up on more than one venue.

4. If you don't believe in treating people with common courtesy, please go away. I have, and enforce, a strict courtesy policy on my blogs and online forums, and this is no exception. The sort of schoolyard bullying that takes place on so many other internet forums will get you deleted and banned here. Also, please don't drag in current quarrels about sex, race, religions, etc. No, I don't care if you disagree with that: my journal, my rules.

With that said, the floor is open for discussion.

I recently had occasion to spend some time among the PMC (for reasons), and I just wanted to report back a few data points.

One, COOTIES-19:

Many, but certainly not all, of them seem to think that covid is mostly over, but that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the response. Covid was a horrible deadly disease, the blue-state responses were absolutely necessary, the vaccines saved lives and enabled us to get back to normal (well, normal-ish), fortunately the disease is less severe than it used to be and we have vaccines and better treatment now, it's mostly over but some people (older, immune compromised) still have to be "careful" in some situations. Some of them still engage in some cootie theater, including making sure that everyone get covid boosters before Thanksgiving 2023 (because elderly people were coming), and are still wearing masks in certain "high risk" situations (when traveling by train or plane, in crowds, etc.). Yes, it's still going on. And absolutely none of them seem to have any criticism of anything that was done, or to believe that the covid response did any serious damage to society.

Two, Trump:

From what I saw, TDS is still in almost-full force.

At best, a few of them seem to have accepted that there is nothing they can do about "the country being destroyed" by Trump and his allies, so they have "given up" on politics. They're easier to be around, because they don't really want to talk about how much they hate Trump any more, it's just "too depressing". They're willing to agree to avoid the "just horrible" topic of politics and talk about something else.

Others, however, are still as bonkers as ever. I had one person tell me that they want to move close to the Canadian border, so if Trump gets re-elected they'll be "close to another country." I'm not sure if they think they're going to flee over the border like refugees if the vote goes the wrong way for them, or if they just think they'll derive some sort of psychological comfort from being "near" Canada, which is so much "saner". It wasn't clear.

Another person went absolutely bonkers when Trump came up - launched into one of those barely-coherent rants, something about how Trump this and Trump that and they all love Putin so much that they want to turn America into Russia, blah blah blah. One thing that was significant about this was how it made me think of what JMG said about demonic energy. The women in question seemed normal until Trump came up, then she got very agitated, and her energy did feel to me to be "hot and murky" - she sort of stiffened up and almost stomped around in a weird, frenetic-with-rage kind of way while ranting shrilly about Trump. Moments before we'd been sipping wine and chatting about a mutual acquaintance and then Trump got brought up, she snapped into lunatic mode, and I wanted nothing more than to put my wine down, make an excuse about the bathroom, and just flee. It was disturbing.

So, those are my data points from PMC Crazy Town. I visited so you don't have to!

I got to live here bro! It sucks but I’m naturally reclusive so I have that going for me.

The cooties denial is really sickening because it means it can easily happen all over again. My better half took those two shots against my constant and desperate pleas not to. First two years was okay but since the end of last year till now, it’s been six months of constant sickness. When the conversation comes up, I’m blunt, we’ve been poisoned, yes, even I who refused because I’m surrounded by the foxxed. She will let it out in small admissions, that maybe she’s been harmed by these shots but are there more in this town willing to admit the damage done? I don’t know but my guess is your take is closer to the truth.

At least three friends have expressed their pleasure at this show trial decision.

They are oblivious to consequence.

I told my partner to stop masturbating to CNN and got 24 hours of blissful silence.

What with the left-wing nutjobs who can't stop talking about the Russians, it reminds one of the old days, when the right-wing nutjobs couldn't stop talking about the Russians.

Back then, if you suggested that corporate control of everything might be undesirable or that the USA should avoid getting into wars with countries that haven't bothered us, you were liable to be labeled a left-wing commie America-hater. Nowadays, if you suggest the same things, it gets you labeled a right-wing-extremist white-supremacist enemy of democracy.

Yup.

I've somehow transitioned from a left-wing commie America-hater during the Bush years to a right-wing-extremist white-supremacist enemy of democracy sometime around 2016, without altering a single one of my opinions.

LOL I can totally relate.

At the end of my latest zoom session with my mother in the USA (I live in Poland) I got a 2 minute TDS rant. With a total deadpan delivery she regurgitated all the CNN talking points from the past several years starting from the recent trial and working backwards to Putin and Russia.

I burst out laughing when she finished and was about to applaud (great stand-up delivery) when she simply said: Its not funny! Thankfully our time ran out before I could mention that she is probably not going to be happy when he gets re-elected.

No covid-vax rant. But that would probably only come up if I was planning to visit her in Florida. She would insist that I get vaxxed before visiting. Guess I won't be visiting Florida in the near future. I don't think I'll be coming back to the US at all, although I have a grand-daughter that I would like to see in person for the first time.

Yah, as an Australian, Trump is my absolute favourite dowsing rod to find reality based people to talk to. Merely mention his name and then watch the eyes bug out and the foam flecked spittle fly. Or, very occasionally, someone will say something more sane and I will cautiously probe further.

Trump as dowsing road. So very true! I have seen the spittle flying from the Bad Orange Man-deranged. A lot of people I know, they're like windup vomit dolls, you just whisper the word "Trump," and STAND BACK! They start spewing credo.

I used to find this very disturbing. Now I just avoid mentioning Trump, and if someone else does, quick, I get out of there.

I'm US citizen who plans to vote for Kennedy, by the way.

The worst example I ever witnessed was an inveterate old covidiot, rightly upset that his adult son had been injured in a hit-and-run accident. He was instantly convinced that the driver, still unidentified, simply had to be a Trump voter.

You can't fix stupid. Just slowly back away....

One thing that keeps surprising me is how vastly different the information between people is. The few times I engage with other people on these subjects, I have to spend an afwul amount of time explaining why I have a certain position simply because my 'facts' are vastly different than their 'facts'. We simply live in different worlds.

I don't see much of crazy energy in those talks as I avoid the ones who seem totally absorbed by their own viewpoints. The people I speak with usually just fall silent as they don't know where to begin to process the huge difference in what I see happening and what they see happening. I have no idea if the gap can be bridged. It seems we just have to let the maelstrom go wherever it wants and pick up the pieces afterwards.

My focus these days is on my spiritual practice. I can't help anyone with information, but can lead by example by having a constructive and compassionate attitude and let my inner light shine so the ones with the eyes to see can connect.

Boccaccio, I see the same. It is oftentimes very eerie to me.

My conclusion at present is that what will bridge the gap isn't going to be so much something I said-- although perhaps it could be-- but their willingness to start asking questions, rather than simply swallowing what they're told by the mainstream media. And that's up to them. Once a person starts asking questions, everything changes. And that's precisely why many people do not want to ask questions.
