Chiming in as a fellow language learner. I don't speak Arabic, but I've found that i think and communicate totally differently in my 2nd and 3rd languages compared to English. I have dreams in my 2nd language, and even they are very different from my 'normal' English dreams. Dreams, like divination, are a crossroads of language and symbols .. i wonder what trying a divination method 'built with' another language would be like?
During times when I was switching back and forth several times a day, friends and family noticed a personality change (more outgoing, better at conflict resolution).
For my money, a language's syntax, structure, rhythm and even sound/vocab, influence our thoughts and perceptions. Arabic is more distant from English than the languages I speak, which are all Indo-European. I'm willing to bet the change in thought/perception would be even more dramatic!
