Not an odd question at all -- were you aware that I'm in writing a series of occult-detective novels in which all the magic is real? It's great fun, and I'm delighted to see that someone else is interested in using real magic in fantasy, in place of the schlock that usually ends up there.
The Pauline Art would be a very good choice, since that specifically works with angels from the Hebrew tradition, such as Michael. Enochian has its own completely different set of angels, and Michael isn't included in them.
