In his original series there was something with an island that was hit by beams from the sky. The recent firestorm in Maui and the rumours about DEW (direct energy weapons) made me think about it. Not that I believe that DEW caused the fires, but it did quite the round on the internet. Perhaps Ed picked up on that?
