If you can work with the Druid Magic Handbook you should find the Dolmen Arch material very congenial. It contains much more philosophy and symbolism -- each lesson contains a set of philosophical triads as raw material for meditation, as well as study of one of the traditional stories from the Mabinogion -- but the core work is the Sphere of Protection and its developments, alongside daily meditation. It also includes a system of energy healing and some methods of practical magic different from those in the DMH, but those are in the second volume.
