The picture? I'm working my way through photos of my lineage, focusing on the teachers whose work has influenced me and the teachers who influenced them in turn. I'm currently tracing my Martinist lineage. Along with Louis-Claude de St. Martin, last week's honoree, the inner circle of pupils of Martinez de Pasqually included this week's figure, Jean-Baptiste Willermoz. A very active Freemason, Willermoz played a central role in cleaning up the mess left by the implosion of the Strict Observance (the most important Templar order in 18th century Europe) and created a new order with its own rituals, the Rectified Rite, which survives to this day. Much of what became the ritual of Martinism came from Willermoz's hands.

I have some questions about affirmations, I want to make sure I understand the rules correctly

1. is the affirmation , "I can physically see spirits and energy and can distinguish them from material things".
2. and does the affirmation , "I am beautiful and have beautiful and thick hair" make sense?

I have some quibbles with both of these.

For the first, you may or may not have the peculiar neurology that enables some people to see spiritual things as though they were physical things. Just as an affirmation won't make you grow back a foot if it's been amputated, there are limits to what you can do with affirmations to change your nervous system. Also, "energy" is potentially problematic; do you want to see electricity? How about radio waves? Or latent heat?

For the second, if your hair doesn't happen to be thick, trying to make it thick by affirmation is unlikely to work.

Affirmations I would suggest instead would be these:

"I can clearly perceive spirits and spiritual forces."

"I am beautiful."

So its just a matter of genes that some people are able to see spirits? That's a little depressing

The traditional lore has it that the Second Sight was the goal of large-scale breeding programs during the cycle of civilizations that preceded ours (the usual term for that cycle is "Atlantean"). It so happens that when the seas rose at the end of the last ice age, a lot of survivors of the Sacred Clan, which was the product of those programs, ended up in what's now northwestern Europe. It's not a natural capacity and comes with a lot of problems.

You can certainly learn to see spirits, however. You just won't see them with your physical eyes. Any training program that develops clairvoyance -- and there are dozens of those -- will give you the necessary ability.

So that's why the Celtic people are most noted for having Second Sight?

Exactly. They have an unusually high amount of ancestry from that end of Atlantean society.
